BRYAN MILLER
Bryan Miller has been the Principal Trumpet of the Olathe Community Orchestra since April 1990. He has served on the Board of Directors since 1993, including terms as President and Vice-President. He is currently Treasurer of the Orchestra. Bryan is originally from the St. Louis area, and earned a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The Olathe Community Orchestra was the first group Bryan joined upon his move to Kansas City in February 1990. Since then, Bryan has been very active with orchestras, bands and brass ensembles, not only as a performer, but in management positions as well. He has held principal trumpet positions with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and the Medical Arts Symphony in addition to the OCO. He also holds or has held principal cornet positions with the American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City, the Kansas City Wind Symphony, the Heart of America Wind Symphony and the JC Winds at Johnson County Community College. He performs with two brass quintets, the Festival Brass Quintette and the Kansas City Brass Project, the latter of which is also Kansas City's only permanent brass choir. He has also played professionally at the New Theatre Restaurant.
Bryan is an actuary by profession and works for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. He lives in Overland Park.
