Olathe native Laure Ronnebaum is happy to be singing again with the Olathe Community Orchestra. She has worked extensively throughout the KC area at such venues as The Kansas City Lyric Opera, The Kansas City Repertory Theater, The New Theater, The American Heartland Theater, The Coterie Childrens’ Theater, The Folly Theater, and here in Olathe at the Chestnut Fine Arts Theater. She is a diversified actress and singer, enjoying a career both as a classical singer and as a musical theater performer. A sample of shows in which she has appeared includes: A Christmas Carol, Guys and Dolls, The Sound Of Music, Lend Me A Tenor, South Pacific, Carousel, West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, The Pirates Of Penzance, The Mikado, Tosca, The Merry Widow, La Traviata, Carmen, Trouble In Tahiti, Albert Herring, The Face On The Barroom Floor and The Turn Of The Screw.
Laure has taught voice at Kansas University and Avila University, and she was the music theater specialist at UMKC for the first three years of their new Music Theater program. Since returning to Olathe many years ago, Laure has maintained a thriving private voice studio. She has taught voice and performed professionally since finishing her Masters Degree in vocal performance from Kansas University. She has been the music director for shows at Avila University, Shawnee Mission Theater In The Park, and Olathe Community Theater, and she has served as a stage director at Kansas University.
Two years ago she added a new chapter to her busy life and adopted three beautiful children. They are now 5, 7, and 8 years old, and Laure is learning new skills every day! She has truly been blessed with this new, active family.
