Michael is 18 years old and a senior at Shawnee Mission South High School. He began playing violin with the Suzuki Method at the age of four. His musical accomplishments include winning first place in the state for the Junior Festival Competition and first place in the Kansas City Jerry Penzner Young Artists Showcase. He has been active in various athletics throughout his life. He was recently voted Team Captain of the Shawnee Mission South varsity football team this past season. He has maintained straight-A's throughout his high school career and is still in the process of selecting a college. Michael devotes over 150 hours per year towards helping his community. He is currently the president of the Youth Recognition Board, a not-for-profit, student lead organization whose goal is to promote volunteerism and provide recognition to Kansas City's young volunteers. Michael's parents Kambiz and Linda Khadavi and sister Elena encourage Michael in all of his aspirations.
