OCO 2024 High School Scholarship Winner

The Olathe Community Orchestra is pleased to showcase a talented high school student on our 2024 spring concert! Pianist Celes Kramer, a sophomore at Olathe North High School!
Celes will perform the Rondo from Concerto in G Major, Op. 73 by Hummel with the OCO on Sunday, April 28, 2024, 3:00 pm, at Grace United Methodist Church, Olathe, Kansas.
About Celes Kramer
Celes Kramer, aged 16, is a dedicated pianist who embarked on her musical journey at the age of 5 under the guidance of her teacher, Linda Chen. With a vast repertoire spanning classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, Celes has been involved in numerous local competitive piano events. Notably, she has been a recurrent participant in the KCMTA Junior Concerto Competition, achieving 2nd place accolades in the last three years, and has garnered high honors in KMTA’s District and State Auditions every year. During the summers, she likes to stay musically active by taking part in the M.A.M.A. music festival. Concurrently, she is a sophomore enrolled in the specialized medical program at Olathe North High School, balancing her academic endeavors while pursuing her dream of mastering the piano. Celes aims to integrate her passions for music and medicine, aspiring to one day join the esteemed ranks of medical professionals.
OCO High School Scholarship Competition
Each year, the Olathe Community Orchestra provides an opportunity for talented high school musicians in the Olathe area to audition for a chance to perform a solo with the orchestra and receive a scholarship. Past winners have included violinists, violists, cellists, percussionists, a bassist, and a flutist.
